Elettric 80, a company that provides end-of-line automation solutions, has developed solutions to augment operational efficiency for high-volume production of consumer products. The company had developed a material handling automation solution of high-flexibility called Freeway, which is ideal for any type of plant.
The Freeway system also delivers automation solution of high-flexibility required for warehousing operations and total end-of line production with the use of the latest Warehouse Optimizer (WO) in it. It also uses laser guided vehicles (LGVs) for automatic trailer loading (ATL) and storage and retrieval system (SRS).
A trade magazine for the industrial automation sector, A&D INDIA features Elettric 80 in one of its articles. Thomas R. Cutler, a manufacturing journalist, mentions that almost all lean manufacturing and distribution companies aim to augment their operational efficiencies. Another major driving force is the need for a flexible system that allows constant changes in the production cycle and achieves high standards of safety in plants.
Enrico Grassi, the President of Elettric 80, states that the company developed the Freeway system based on the idea that palletizing robots can handle merchandise at the end point of the manufacturing line and LGVs can carry the pallets to the labeling and stretch wrapping machinery.
