A company that provides automated material handling solutions, Intelligrated, has opened a robotics lab at its production and engineering facility located at St. Louis.
The Alvey Robotics Lab that spreads across an area of 5,050 sq. ft. will enable clients to test and conduct demonstrations of robotic machinery before commencing the installation process. The research and development laboratory will aim at designing and developing innovative robotic systems.
The Alvey Robotics Lab will undertake research and development activities to make major advancements in the field of robotics to be suitable for implementation in automated material handling applications such as insertion, picking, case packing, depalletizing, and palletizing.
Activities undertaken at the robotics lab will also focus on making advancements in applications such as managing and advancing of associated equipment, operator interface, vision systems, and end-of-arm tooling.
The Alvey Robotics Lab will provide proof-of-concept manifestations for current and prospective clients. The public will be able to witness how robotic systems are programmed to use their products. Clients can also interact with future solutions on a firsthand basis. In addition, clients will receive practical maintenance and operator training.
