Egemin Automation has signed a contract to deliver automatic trailer loading equipment and automated production warehousing to ConAgra Foods, a major food organization in the US, according to 3PLNews.com.
The initial system will include Egemin’s Warehouse Management System (E’wms), a number of high-reach warehousing AGVs and E'tl automatic trailer loading. The system provides more than 750,000 sq.ft of storage/ retrieval space for finished products using push-back rack systems and deep lane floor systems with a height of about five inches. The system comprises automatic trailer loading and automated production line delivery of outbound shipments.
E’wms provides a connection between the machinery and the logistic surroundings. Egemin and ConAgra Foods are planning to implement and rollout the technologies at several other Egemin’s facilities.
According to VP of Business Development for Egemin Automation, Mark Stevenson, the contract will enable ConAgra Foods to realize huge savings and high-efficiency of operation through warehousing automation. Stevenson has been involved in designing the first automatic trailer loading system in the US.
As a co-inventor of the automatic trailer loading (ATL) technology, Stevenson has been actively involved in the design of warehousing automation and automated trailer loading systems of automated guided vehicle systems.
