A two-day workshop on robotics, Resonance-2011, conducted at the Hartcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI) concluded on March 4, 2011.
The students formed teams of three to participate in the workshop. Students were supplied kits to build the robots. In addition, readymade gear boxes and toy chassis could be used. Visitors witnessed a new range of mobile controlled robots and metro train prototype robots.
During the competition, robots performed various challenging tasks. Students built both wired and wireless robots with a dimension of 25cm x 25cm x 25cm during the initial phase , which could be extended during battle time. The robots competed with each other for a maximum duration of 5 minutes. Teams were awarded points based on its ability to carry out offensive operations on other robots. A robot that crossed the arena was immediately terminated.
A total of 33 teams from various engineering colleges of Uttar Pradesh, besides Harcourtians participated in the robotics workshop. Following Resonance-2011, another competition named `Robomania' will take place on March 10, 2011 and March 11, 2011. All the 33 teams will take part in it.
