Tibion, a private company that develops innovative machines for recovering physical function in humans, has successfully closed a $10.175 million deal.
The company, which designed the robotic Bionic Leg, specializing in rehabilitation equipment for stroke patients, has appointed a new board of directors and a board chairman.
Every year, according to statistics, more than 3 million people are chronically disabled by stroke and more than 300,000 stroke victims have problem walking. Physicians who use the Bionic Leg claim that there is a lot of improvement in stroke survivors after they are exposed to this innovative machine, mostly after the first session.
The Tibion Bionic Leg provides assistance to stroke survivors by supporting the weakened parts of the victim’s legs. This medical robotic equipment enables stroke victims to get to the sit-to-stand position repeatedly. In addition, it also helps stroke patients to perform walking and stair climbing exercises that results in the recovery of the individual’s gait.
CEO, Charles Remsberg stated that the new deal will enable Tibion to expand their sales and marketing operations and also support the release of the battery operated wearable gait-rehabilitation robot.
