Baltimore Convention Center to Host FIRST Regional Robotics Contest

Around 60 teams formed by the high school students from eleven states and Washington will participate in the FIRST Chesapeake Regional Robotics Contest, which will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center between March 18 and 19, 2011.

The theme given to the teams is ‘LOGO MOTION’. The robots developed by students should perform the desired task. The contest encourages children to become future engineers and scientists. Public can attend the event. Media persons can take part in the practice sessions that will be held on March 17.

Major sponsors of the 9th Annual FIRST Robotics Competition Chesapeake Regional include BAE Systems, Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, NASA and SAIC. Other contributors are Constellation Energy, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
