Third Annual National Robotics Week Celebrates U.S. Innovation in Robotics

To commemorate robotics innovation in the U.S., the third annual National Robotics Week will be celebrated from April 7 to 15, 2012. Hosted to promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) among young students, National Robotics Week will serve as an ideal source where the public can comprehend the emerging potentials of robots in education, engineering and industry and their positive impact in the future of the U.S. economy.

Microchip Declares Winners of Arizona Regional 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition

Microchip Technology, a supplier of microcontroller, Flash-IP and analog solutions, has recently declared the outcome of the Chandler-based 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Arizona Regional, which was held on March 23 and 24. The Carl Hayden High School of Phoenix, Crescent School of Toronto, Canada and Chandler’s Seton Catholic High School are eligible to compete in the St. Louis-based 2012 FIRST Robotics Competition Championship, from April 26 to 28.

Students Win Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional Robotics Competition

Following their triumph in the Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional Robotics Competition, three student teams from New York and Connecticut will progress to the FIRST Championship scheduled from April 25 to 28 at St. Louis, Missouri.

National Robotics Competition at Walter.E.Washington Convention Center

Funded by NASA and other organizations, an international student robotics competition is being conducted on March 30 and 31, 2012. The event takes place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, in Washington. Several media representatives have been invited for the event, which is open to public.

Gates Promotes Annual Regional FIRST Robotics Competition through Sponsorship

With support from Gates Corporation, over 1,000 students from Colorado proceeded to 2012 FIRST Robotics Colorado Regional Competition, on 23 March. The Mexican and Colorado area students exhibited their robots in the Annual Regional Competition, following a six week project on designing and constructing an original robot.

It recently declared that it will sponsor the sixth consecutive For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition, once more. Besides offering financial support Chesapeake Regional competition, Hughes executives were the jury for the same.
