Alternative to Amazon Go lets consumers shop and pay without scanning or stopping to check out
Standard Cognition, which is eliminating the hassle of retail checkout by removing it entirely, announced today that it has been named one of the Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Robotics by Fast Company magazine. The honorees are named in the March-April 2018 issue of Fast Company, available online now at www.fastcompany.com and on newsstands Feb. 27.
The 2018 Most Innovative Companies (more than 350 in total) were curated from Fast Company's Top 10 lists, which recognize pioneering companies across 36 categories, from robotics to wellness. More than three dozen Fast Company editors, reporters, and contributors surveyed thousands of companies to create these lists, which feature large companies such as Apple and the NBA alongside startups such as Standard Cognition.
Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s signature franchise and one of its most highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year. It provides both a snapshot and a road map for the future of innovation across the most dynamic sectors of the economy. “This year’s MIC list is an inspiring and
insightful window into how many companies have embraced innovation and are working to make meaningful change,” said Fast Company deputy editor David Lidsky, who oversaw the issue with senior editor Amy Farley.
“We are thrilled to have been recognized by Fast Company for this honor,” said Michael Suswal, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Standard Cognition. “The Standard Cognition team set out to massively disrupt retail checkout, and we have made swift progress with the world’s top retailers. We’re gearing up to launch our first pilot stores later this year.”
Standard Cognition announced the launch of its solution – an artificial intelligence-based system that lets consumers shop and pay without scanning or stopping to check out – in August 2017. An alternative to Amazon Go, the Standard Cognition platform is the first such solution available to any retailer, helping to reduce their labor costs, improve the customer experience, and increase profit margins by up to 100 percent.
