HEIDENHAIN has launched ECI 119, the latest rotary encoder, ideal for electric motors in several applications involved in electronics, automation, plastic injection molding equipments and packaging segments. The outer diameter of the encoder measures 92 mm and its height is 19mm.
The singleturn, absolute ECI 119 encoder is an addition to the ExI 13xx and ExI 11xx family and around 524288 positions are provided per revolution. Bearing-free design is the significant aspect of the encoder. Modular architecture of the encoder avoids deterioration of the bearing. It also avoids shaft currents and the encoder’s mechanical self heating. By accomplishing all the mounting tolerances, the encoder does not require any maintenance exterior of contagion fortification.
The ECI 119 encoder utilizes the EnDat serial data interface of the company. It provides two kinds of output namely purely serial data (EnDat21) or serial data with 1 Vpp incremental signals (EnDat 01). It enables the implementation of SSI interface by means of a low value order. EnDat enables online identification and also helps users to transmit absolute and incremental position information.
