MUSC Research Coordinator Demonstrates Robotic Arm Mimicking Human Movements

A group of 48 FIRST LEGO League students from Oakbrook Middle School paid a visit to the Medical University of South Carolina.

They met the neuro-rehabilitation team of the University to understand the role of engineering, robotics and biomechanics in the treatment of post-traumatic wound.

Jenna Nott, a Research Coordinator at the MUSC, showcased a robotic arm developed from legos. The robotic arm  replicates human motions exactly with the help of in-built electronic sensors. Its movements matched Jenna Nott’s movements exactly and the students were excited during its demonstration.
