University of West of England Researchers Develop Heart Robot

Researchers from the University of West of England have built the Heart robot. It is made of flexible plastic fabric, enabling it to move softly. It has an electronic beating heart. With the help of built-in sensors in eyes and body, the robot is sensitive to touch, sound and motion.

When the robot wants to be cuddled, it will show expressions similar to that of human beings. Also when the robot gets frightened, its heart starts beating faster. It keeps itself away from frightening things and firmly grasps both hands.

David McGoran, Academics from the University of the West of England, has mentioned that heart robot is a classic example of how robots are ultimately going to possess human attributes. The developers have mentioned that they have developed the robot after analyzing the response and emotions of human beings.
