Machine Vision Products (MVP) has announced that EControls has procured two Supra E automated optical inspection (AOI) systems through Torenko & Associates, their sales partner in the Southwest territories of the US and Mexico.
It is expected that the AOI systems will start functioning from the first week of February at the San Antonio, TX plant of EControls. EControls procured AOI systems for its enhanced first pass outputs, quicker line speeds, extensive client support and easy maintenance of program.
The presently used AOI software of EControls does not include true linking abilities and in many instances its speed less than other upstream equipments. In addition, optical character verification (OCV) is restricted to three-part markings and technical assistance needs to be improved. The rate of incorrect alarms in grayscale AOI system is also high. The color system of Machine Vision Products will be highly flexible.
Ken Lucas, Senior Quality Inspector of EControls has stated that the reason behind selecting MVP system was the software’s combining ability and also the capability to train part markings of several manufacturers to a distinct part number of EControls. He mentioned that the recession has compelled them to obtain components from several manufacturers and has made adaptable OCR set up mandatory. He added that the software interface of MVP is so advanced with lesser errors when compared to the products of other manufacturers.
Richard Osborne, North American Sales Manager of MVP, expressed his excitement about working with Ken and also in including EControls to their growing list of clients.
Supra E, the latest AOI system of MVP, offers total assessing abilities such as two dimensional paste assessment and pre-reflow, post-reflow and post-wave inspection. It also offers real-time response of particular production methodology information. It works on metrology principle and all reported data is based on measurement and not on comparison. It features flying technology for offering quicker cycle times. The image processing ability of Supra E system is also high. The total program can be developed within two hours and these programs can be deployed directly into production lines, without missing any inspection phase.
