NASA Sponsors Bit by Bit 4-H Club’s Participation in FIRST Robotics Contest

Bit by Bit 4-H Club members have received a grant worth $6,500 from NASA for participating in the FIRST robotics contest this year.

The team went to Garmin International in Kansas during the robotics contest kick-off, which was held on January 8. They received their robot kits, and they started developing the frame of the robot. The challenge was declared online as well as on NASA TV. The participants need to develop, assess and redevelop their robot before the onset of regional contest in March.

Peggy Painter, 4-H volunteer club leader, has mentioned that they have received support from members of community as well as parents. He added that they have offered tools, guidance and shop spaces.

Monett VFW Post #4207 and Pixelscopic also helped them in terms of money and expertise. As part of the contest, the team is developing a website, enlisting all those who contributed to the project and also recorded the team’s robot developing experience.
