Genpact, a global leader in designing, transforming, and running intelligent business operations, today announced an expanded partnership with technology solutions provider Exilant that will integrate their Fusion robotic process automation (RPA) platform into Genpact's solutions and services for clients particularly in the hospitality, retail, life sciences, and manufacturing industries.
Robotics process automation (RPA), also referred to as rapid automation (RA), has been gaining significant traction in the business process management arena over the past few years. The Genpact-Exilant partnership, which began four years ago, has generated measurable business results to date for a number of clients including enhanced productivity, accuracy, and compliance. This additional partnership will combine process design and technology into an accelerator package to compress time to results.
Fusion is an important extension of the toolset in Genpact's growing portfolio of RA offerings. RA is one of Genpact's Systems of Engagement™ (SoE) advanced technology solutions, which enable clients to maximize their returns from existing and legacy technology platforms, optimize productivity, and accelerate time-to-value at a lower cost. Genpact extends Exilant's robust capabilities by designing, transforming, and helping run operations that benefit from the digitization and automation of various business processes – and making the related operations more intelligent as they are able to sense, react, and over time learn from their actions and performance.
Business process automation through robotics can be an enabler of cost containment, greater efficiency, and enhanced performance, quality, and compliance. However, deep domain and process understanding as well as quality discipline are key to extracting the maximum value from RA. RA is therefore optimized when industry experts deconstruct and reengineer the process so that the machine can automate it reliably.
The solution has already generated business impact for several clients. For instance, it manages the majority of accounts payable (AP) reconciliation process – including automated vendor reconciliation and payment journal creation – for a hospitality client's 1,100 vendors. This has resulted in increased transaction speed, reduced errors, increased productivity, and an easy way to enable upstream business insights through analytics.
In another example, a large electronics manufacturer was struggling to effectively manage seasonal, promotional, new product, and large volume order spikes. The joint RA solution automatically accommodates the variability of demand, provides fully accurate and detailed audit trails of all the transactions, and can be very quickly adapted to accommodate changes in business rules or the underlying processes.
"As a pioneer in business process automation, we are excited to expand our solid partnership with Genpact so that clients benefit from both process design and innovative technology when streamlining their operations," said Madhav Sivadas, CEO, Fusion business at Exilant. "Our product engineering teams will be working closely with Genpact to deliver technology and performance improvements in process automation, which will directly benefit Genpact's clients."
"Genpact leverages technology differently. Our Systems of Engagement™ align more tightly with business outcomes through an agile layer of technology that harnesses the pre-existing legacy systems, and focuses on gaps that drive material business impact," said Sanjay Srivastava, senior vice president and Chief Digital Officer, Genpact. "By embedding Exilant's Fusion into our rapid automation portfolio of solutions, we are helping our clients in many industries to cross the chasm of RA adoption and become even more agile to help spur growth and remain competitive."
