Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has developed a new robot that can identify human emotions including anger, happiness, and surprise.
The team of Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh at the Electrical – Electronics Department of the university has developed the robot.
The leg of the robot comprises sensory equipment, software, a roving camera, and three wheels. The sensory equipment allows the robot to move, detect human faces, as well as to identify human emotions. When the robot recognizes a person as sad, it moves towards the person, whereas it stays back when it recognizes the individual as happy.
