Adept Technology, Inc., a leading provider of intelligent robots, autonomous mobile robot solutions, and services, today announced that it won an Innovation Award at the 2014 Emballage exhibition for its "Lynx Conveyor" mobile robot. The Emballage exhibition, an international packaging industry event, was held from November 17-20, 2014, at Paris Nord Villepinte in Paris, France.
"We are delighted to have won an Emballage Innovation Award for our Lynx Conveyor robot," said Bruno Adam, director of Adept Technology France. "The Lynx Conveyor illustrates the practicality and versatility of our Lynx mobile robots for transporting goods throughout large facilities. These unique vehicles self-navigate congested environments, work collaboratively with people and machines, and require no facility adaptions. They allow users to achieve a new level of efficiency and cost-savings in their materials movement."
The Lynx Conveyor robot combines a Lynx autonomous intelligent vehicle (AIV) base with a motorized conveyor platform, producing a mobile robot that can receive, transport and deliver goods. Adept Lynx AIVs intelligently self-navigate, avoiding obstacles and selecting the best path to complete a task. They're ideal for highly dynamic environments such as large warehouses, distribution centers and factories. The vehicles can work as a fleet and simply run in conjunction with the user's existing warehouse management system.
Adept's Lynx Conveyor is one of eight Innovation Award recipients selected from 215 entries submitted by exhibitors. The Lynx Conveyor won in the "Packaging and Intralogistics Services" category.
