ThermoGenesis Corp, a global leader in providing automated solutions for processing of blood and other biological substances, has declared the installation of two BioArchive Systems for HealthBanks Biotech Company Ltd, a private cord blood bank.
HealthBanks has reported that it has 20 BioArchives with a holding capacity of 60,000 units of cord blood stem cells that are properly arranged and cryopreserved. ThermoGenesis' AXP AutoXpress (AXP) Platform is also used by HealthBanks which automate the cord blood processing.
J. Melville Engle, Chief Executive Officer of ThermoGenesis expressed his pleasure over partnering with HealthBanks and their expansion in Asia whose market has a huge opportunity for cord blood collection. He stated that HealthBank is creating novel models for the collection of stem cells from cord blood by including both AXP and BioArchive systems, thereby making HealthBanks a top competitor in the growing market of cord blood preservation. He further added that the previous quarter was dominated by the activities related to BioArchive and is expected that the existing quarter will also feature the same trend.
HealthBank' President Chang Hsiu-kang and Vice President of Operations Chen, Wei-Chun have reported that realization of increased cell sustainability and recovery which is accomplished by incorporating both AXP and BioArchive Systems will help in speeding up of graft attachment.
