Regional Specialized Hospital Performs Poland’s First Robot-Assisted Surgery

Regional Specialized Hospital has performed the first ever robotic surgery in Poland for treating a 71 year-old cancer patient.

da Vinci Surgical Robot

The da Vinci robot helps the surgeon by magnifying the area to be operated tenfold. It reduces the natural tremble of the hands, providing great precision for the surgeon during the procedure.

The medical center has enough funds for performing 30 more robotic surgeries. Though robot-assisted procedures are expensive, they are less troublesome for patients. National Health Fund (NHF) does not offer reimbursement for robot-assisted surgeries.
