Hansen Medical, global leader in developing robotics for precise 3D control of catheter motion, has declared the inauguration of its European headquarters in London.
This new facility will act as a major center for training, commercial and doctor support activities for its business operations outside the United States, which includes the planned release of Hansen’s adaptable catheter vascular robotic system in 2011. This catheter system is currently under investigation.
The new headquarters is situated on Eastbourne Terrace in Central London. Bruce Barclay, President and CEO of Hansen Medical, has stated that the London location can be easily accessed from any European place and is also located near several medical centers, which utilize Hansen’s robotics solutions for performing various procedures. He mentioned that both visiting and resident doctors as well as experts in clinical assistance can make use of the product demo and training offered at the new office. He said that the new center will support their current EP laboratory programs, release of the Lynx(TM) ablation catheter in Europe and the future launch of their adaptable catheter vascular robotic system.
According to Roland Peplinski, General Manager for EMEA, Asia Pacific and Canada, their new London facility will serve as an ideal platform for enhancing their global business. He added that London has become a hub for robotic ablation treatment due to the installation of several Sensei robots in adjacent medical centers by their company.
Barclay has mentioned that the opening of the new facility is part of their premeditated plan of expanding their services in Europe and other nations outside the United States due to the expected 2011 commercialization of their vascular robotic system. He added that they are determined to complement their expert sales team by providing a training and commercialization center, which can be easily accessed by both doctors and clients.
