Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, WI, recently implemented ScriptPro's state-of-the-art inventory management system, known as SIM, to manage its inventory investment, which is critical to patient service and typically the largest single item on a pharmacy's balance sheet.
SIM is integrated with Aurora's SP Central Workflow System, also provided by ScriptPro, to perform realtime inventory tracking, order generation, electronic transmission, and receiving. SIM synchronizes perpetual inventory records with workflow in the pharmacy and automates the replenishment ordering processes.
Aurora Health Care chose SIM to optimize patient care while saving both time and money. According to Dave Goehlen, R.Ph., Aurora Health Care, "SIM seamlessly integrates inventory management and tracking into the pharmacy workflow and provides a powerful tool to reduce costly overhead and time-consuming out-of-stocks by ensuring we always have the optimum level of stock on hand."
Per Mike Coughlin, ScriptPro's CEO, "A powerful inventory management system is a triple win. Cash is freed up by reducing excess stock, there is a reduction in out of stock items through accurate records and automated ordering, and pharmacy staff is relieved of manual tasks so they have more time for serving patients."
