Richardson Middle Students Win Robotics Competition

Joseph Lloyd and Rey Barcelo of Richardson Middle School bagged the first prize in the robotics competition, which was held at California State University. This winning team will contend at the VEX Robotics World Championship, which will be held at Walt Disney World in Florida between April and 16.

In the tournament, which was held last month, Richardson school students had developed a ladder-climbing robot named Homer. Their robot defeated other robots of 36 competing teams and concluded with a last round, which was played  two times, since the opponent of Homer robot had a mechanical failure. Once the problem was fixed, Homer robot won the contest.
