Metso has opened a new service center in the City of Lappeenranta, Finland. It was officially inaugurated on October 24, 2013, in connection with a customer seminar and in the presence of about 120 guests.
The new service center further strengthens the company’s service business related to automation systems, field devices and valves, and brings support closer to the pulp, paper and process industry customers and energy producers in southeastern Finland.
“Our service offering is now closer to our customers than earlier, enabling us to provide them with a faster response,” says Jari Ehrling, Manager, Customer Service, Automation, Metso.
The service center is located in the Pajarila industrial area, just a few kilometers from the city center. The new two-floor building houses both office and storage facilities, with altogether about 1,100 square meters. In addition to Metso’s Automation business line, also Metso Endress+Hauser, a joint venture of Metso Automation and Endress+Hauser, has facilities in the building. Metso Endress+Hauser is responsible for Metso and Endress+Hauser sales and service for field automation in Finland, including valves and field devices. In total, the new service center employs 10 automation professionals.
“Cooperation with Metso Endress+Hauser will be easy, since we share the same building. We are able to better react to our customers’ needs, and they will get all the services under one roof,” Ehrling sums up. Ossi Uronen, Area Manager in Metso Endress+Hauser agrees with him and adds: “These new facilities are a great inspiration for us to further develop and improve our services.”
With its solutions, the Services business line helps customers improve profitability, lower risks and optimize costs. The services portfolio includes, for example, optimization and monitoring of processes, upkeep and maintenance services for process automation, field device and valve service, services related to spare parts, projects and storage, as well as services to meet the ever-tightening environmental requirements.
The new facility brings the total number of Metso’s automation service centers to 34. By combining intelligent solutions with high-quality services, these service centers deliver secured plant availability while optimizing total maintenance costs for customers.
The Automation segment’s process automation and flow control solutions meet the growing needs of Metso’s customer industries to improve production process efficiency as raw materials and energy sources become scarcer and their costs increase. Our global network of service experts delivers business solutions to our customers that improve their productivity, lower risks and optimize costs.
