Maxon has launched the new EPOS2 70/10 unit with multifarious features and functions for controlling modes like position, velocity and current mode as well as for allowing adaptable utilization of drives in mechatronics and automation applications. The unit is exclusively developed for handling various features in the CANopen network.
Other functions of EPOS2 70/10 include a Step/Direction for moving the motor and a Master Encoder Mode step-by-step for utilizing the drive as electronic gear-head. The traditional servo amplifier applications can be effectively substituted by means of instructing through an analog set value voltage.
The EPOS2 70/10 unit includes accurate movement control abilities. A speed controller and dual loop position are provided by a controller, facilitating the direct and accurate controlling of load by including an extra sensor. The motor placing unit can simultaneously run a course mentioned by interpolating points with the help of Interpolated Position Mode (PVT).
The entire EPOS2 70/10 unit can be controlled by means of either CAN Master (for e.g. PLC, Soft PLC and EPOS2 P) or with PC using RS232 or USB. The incorporation and synchronization of various drives are facilitated by CANopen interface. Further, included gateway functions like USB-to-CAN and RS232-to-CAN, help in accessing CAN frame-works.
