Valerus, a world leader in integrated oil and gas handling equipment and services, announced today that it has launched Valerus COMMAND™ on its contract compression fleet and on facilities it owns and operates.
A step change from traditional SCADA and monitoring systems, it integrates remote monitoring and analytics, enterprise asset management (EAM), standard operating procedures, and technical expertise to deliver actionable information and insight. This improves safety, service, availability, reliability and environmental compliance of surface facilities.
“Valerus COMMAND will help us deliver the best service to our customers, leveraging our existing compression, production and processing expertise to drive performance improvements from the wellhead to the pipeline,” said Pete Lane, CEO of Valerus. “We’ve invested extensively in our people, in this technology, and in process improvement to launch what we believe is the most comprehensive performance monitoring and predictive analytics system available for surface facilities.”
Valerus partnered with Enbase Energy Technology to develop the performance monitoring and analytics portion — or predictive SCADA — which automates real-time data, notifications and daily reports within the system. Data is then fed into the Valerus EAM system, which generates a work order with model-specific maintenance procedures and intelligently routes service technicians to provide timely, effective response. In addition, Valerus integrated its standardized operating and maintenance procedures and opened the COMMAND Center in Houston. The result is improved availability and performance.
Because all monitored information is historically archived, reporting for environmental compliance is simplified. Safety is also improved with the ability to identify potentially hazardous conditions and reduce the amount of time on the road or at the site. Furthermore, centralized recordkeeping provides timely, simplified access to job safety analysis data for requirements such as safety audits, operator qualification (OQ), and safety and environmental management systems (SEMS).
“The launch of Valerus COMMAND is the result of significant investment in resources and technology, both by Valerus and our strategic partner, Enbase,” said Daniel B. Cannon, senior vice president of global operations for Valerus. “I want to congratulate Enbase and our global operations personnel on the successful implementation of the first phase of our offering.”
“We will continue to grow and invest in Valerus COMMAND and extend it to other parts of our business,” said Tanmay Desai, senior vice president of contract services for Valerus. “This launch marks the beginning of a staged deployment that will result in further performance advances for our producer and midstream customers.”
