Dalsa Releases GigE Cameras for Machine-Vision Applications

Dalsa has launched a new range of GigE cameras in its Genie product line. The Genie HC family includes 3 color camera models with high-speed performance. They are utilized in several applications including monitoring electronic manufacturing operations.

Every location-scan camera system serves as an individual machine-vision constituent. It links superior technologies of both camera and board image-acquirement in a specific package.

The 3 cameras of the Genie HC family include Genie HC640, Genie HC1024 and Genie HC1400. Genie HC640 features a full resolution of 640x480 pixels and its maximum operating speed is 300 fps. Genie HC1024 can function up to 117 fps and its resolution is 1024x768 pixels. The performance and resolution of Genie HC1400 is 75 fps and 1400x1024 pixels respectively.

The GigE camera models include a tough RJ45 connector which is mounted on a screw. This connector is ideal for robotic applications. The cameras also incorporate an electronic shutter featuring exposure control as well as onboard flat-field correction ensuring high-quality images. All these cameras can broadcast information over default cables like CAT-5e and CAT-6 covering a maximum distance of 100 m. This enables larger distances between the monitoring system and the camera.

The Genie cameras are incorporated with Genie Framework package and Dalsa's Sapera Essential software to facilitate easy setup. The Genie Framework package utilizes Trigger-to-Image Reliability engineering of Dalsa, which enhances creation and utilization of application by offering 360° view of the complete acquirement methodology to the developers.
