Demag Cranes to Deliver Automated Process Cranes

Demag Cranes has reported that it has received a contract to deliver four completely automated process cranes for two China- based paper roll stores. These stores serve as major units of a new manufacturing plant, which is developed by Ji’An Paper Packet, a leading paper industry, located in the in the north of Zhejiang province.

The fully automated cranes help in efficient storage and retrieval of around 610,000 tonnes of paper, which is the estimated production of the new facility. New mechanical grabs hold these cranes and they are exclusively developed by Demag Cranes for the paper manufacturing industries.

Packed paper rolls can be grabbed by the Ji’An Paper Packet and with the help of the newly built mechanical grabs these rolls are stored in space-efficient stacks. The high-end grabs also improves handling speed, allowing picking of four paper rolls concurrently. Ji’An Paper Packet is the first Chinese paper industry to utilize these grabs. The cranes also assure competent storage and staged ready for transporting in explicit batches.

Zhan Zhenfeng, Vice GM of Zhejiang Ji’An Paper Packet, has stated that the two automated paper roll stores as well as the new paper machine denotes a significant milestone in their path of technological expansion.

According to Thomas H. Hagen, member of the Management Board of Demag Cranes AG, the contract received from Ji’An Paper Packet depicts their expertise in offering superior crane solutions for automated paper roll stores. He added that they had made a significant move in the growth market by supplying not only process cranes but also a software for Ji’An Paper Packet.
