Members of the community are invited to attend a free seminar on Robotic Hysterectomy: A New Experience in Minimally Invasive Surgery hosted by Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.
The lecture is presented by Chuong H. Pham, M.D., board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, Tuesday, April 2 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Women's & Children's Pavilion Conference Center on the Willowbrook campus, 18220 State Highway 249. The seminar is free, but space is limited. To register, please call 281-737-2500 or visit www.methodistwillowbrook.com. The event includes refreshments and door prizes.
"Robotic hysterectomy can benefit any woman who has a gynecological problem requiring surgery unresponsive to other medical treatment," said Dr. Pham, who performs up to 200 robotic surgery cases per year. "Women who undergo robotic hysterectomy typically experience less blood loss, quicker recovery, less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and cosmetically less noticeable scar compared to traditional surgery. They also have less risk of infection, return to normal daily activities faster, and require less pain medication."
The seminar is part of the Hot Topics Physician Lecture Series sponsored by the hospital to help the public learn more about medical advances and treatment and have their health care questions answered by board-certified physicians.
Additional upcoming lectures include: Common Orthopedic Conditions of the Hand and Wrist with Korsh Jafarnia, M.D., board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand and upper extremity -- Wednesday, April 10, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.; Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery to Relieve Back and Neck Pain with HoSun Hwang, M.D., board certified orthopedic surgeon -- Wednesday, April 17, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.; and Understanding Female Incontinence with Rose Khavari, M.D., board certified urologist -- Tuesday, April 23, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
