Gorrin Surgical Installs Restoration Robotics’ ARTAS System

Restoration Robotics, Inc. today announced the installation of its revolutionary ARTAS® System by Dr. Neal Gorrin, MD, of Gorrin Surgical. Dr. Gorrin becomes the first in the Bay Area to offer this minimally invasive robotic hair restoration option to his patients.

The ARTAS System – the first and only FDA cleared physician controlled, computer-assisted technology for harvesting follicular units directly from the scalp – offers hair restoration physicians and patients unprecedented levels of safety, efficacy, and patient comfort.

"I'm dedicated to bringing our patients the most advanced hair transplant technology, and the ARTAS System represents the most current, high-tech, high precision option in the industry today," said Dr. Neal Gorrin, MD. "My personal goal is that each of my patients has the best possible experience and that I exceed their expectations," continued Dr. Gorrin.

"I'm pleased to have our ARTAS System now available in the Bay Area, right here in our backyard, with Dr. Gorrin's adoption," noted Jim McCollum, CEO & President of Restoration Robotics. "The robotic precision and minimally invasive advantages of the ARTAS Procedure will benefit many people here as well as those who come from around the world to see Dr. Gorrin."

Hair Loss by the Numbers

Over 35 million men are affected by male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) in the United States alone.[1] Approximately two-thirds of American men will experience appreciable hair loss by age 35; by age 50, 85% will see significant loss in hair thickness.[2] Genetic hair loss, which typically begins between late adolescence and before or during middle age, is largely untreatable outside of surgery.
