Second Annual Robotics Alley Conference and Expo to be Held in November 2012

ReconRobotics and the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) have jointly declared the hosting of the second annual Robotics AlleyTM Expo and Conference on November 15 at the Westin Edina Galleria Hotel.

The event will be graced by 400 leaders in robotics research, design, government and policy, business development, law, and investment banking who will share their views in the explosive, global development of robotics and autonomous systems. Participants will benefit from the demonstration on the optimization of robotics technology to enhance productivity and promote job expansion.

The conference will feature keynote presentations from five internationally renowned speakers, which include:

  • What Happens When Robots Take Over Our World? by Daniel Wilson.
  • Do Military Robots Save Lives? by Lt. General Rick Lynch, U.S. Army (Ret.).
  • Robot and Human Interaction – Entertaining or Creepy? by Heather Knight, Ph.D., who will also present a stand-up comedy performance by an amazingly engaging robot.
  • What is the U.S. National Robotics Initiative? by Dr. Richard Voyles, who will explain the U.S. National Robotics Initiative and its focus on expediting the development of autonomous systems and motivate the adoption of robots that operate in sync with humans.
  • How has South Korea Emerged as a World Leader in Robotics? by Dr. Chul Hue Park, who will describe the history of robotics leadership in South Korea and the expanding global marketplace for their robotics technologies.

Presentations on technology and research, business and finance, and policy and ethics will be delivered by a dozen of other robotics industry experts from varied disciplines like international trade, law, medicine, government, and unmanned aerial systems.

Attendees can also visit Robotics Alley Expo that will include interactive exhibits of robotics initiatives from around 20 companies and organizations.
