Masimo Patient SafetyNet System Adopted for Easton Hospital

Easton Hospital and Masimo has declared that a new patient monitoring system based on Masimo Patient SafetyNet and Masimo rainbow Pulse CO-Oximetry technology have been added to complement Easton Hospital’s advanced non-invasive patient monitoring capabilities.

With this addition, Easton Hospital is the area’s unique, full-service medical facility to be integrated with Patient SafetyNet. This system promotes safety to the patients through consistent and non-invasive mode of measuring the fundamental physiological conditions of up to 80 patients on four floors using Signal Extraction Pulse Oximetry. With real-time detection capabilities, the Patient SafetyNet system will bring 65% reduction in rapid response activations and 48% reduction in complex ICU transfers. Deterioration of patient's condition will signal the system to remotely and automatically alert the physicians.

Easton Hospital physicians will also take advantage of the compact Masimo Pronto CO-oximeter for spot-checking of total hemoglobin (SpHb) non-invasively along with perfusion index measurements, SpO2, and pulse rate. Backed by Masimo rainbow SET technology, Pronto will represent highest pulse oximetry specificity and sensitivity in addition to noninvasive patient monitoring solutions through which physicians can evaluate multiple blood constituents like total hemoglobin (SpHb).

Masimo rainbow SET marks as the pulse oximetry standard-of-care at well-established hospitals. It delivers real-time and steady blood constituent measurements and respiration rate, through which clinicians can measure and evaluate patients more quickly. It can also be used for diagnosing and treating adverse, potentially life-threatening conditions well in advance.
