CyberKnife Cancer Institute of Chicago has become the city’s first medical facility to provide the advanced CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery treatment.
The extensive 10,000 sq. ft. high-tech facility offers treatment to those affected with cancers of the pancreas, brain, spine, kidney, prostate, liver and lung. The technology can also be used for treating certain nervous system conditions including arteriovenous malformations and trigeminal neuralgia. The center has collaborated with Radiology Oncology, S.C., and operates across Chicagoland area with 24 expert physicians.
CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery serves to be a non-invasive alternative to surgery and can treat complex tumors virtually in any part of the body. This novel procedure can effectively treat recurrent tumors with minimal risk of complications, in addition to being rapid, reliable and convenient.
According to Dr. Adam Dickler, Medical Director of the CyberKnife Cancer Institute of Chicago, CyberKnife technology is being welcomed in Chicago and especially on Chicago's Magnificent Mile.
