FIPA has introduced a customized insert-gripper designed for handling inserts in plastic injection-molded parts. The compact solution is touted to be economically feasible even from batch size 1. FIPA insert-grippers are designed for use in various domains such as electronics, pharmaceuticals and automobile industries.
FIPA’s insert grippers enable secure handling of work pieces in swift clock cycles. The solution can be customized according to specific requirements. FIPA offers a choice of air-powered or vacuum-powered grippers, which can be selected according to the purpose.
The FIPA grippers are customized to match the geometry of the material that is to be handled in order to ensure the best process security, even when operated at high speed. Threaded connections and nuts cannot be gripped securely using an external or internal gripper. Vacuum grippers can serve the purpose under such conditions. The suction surface of the gripper will match the negative profile of the work piece. The air-powered gripper located on the other side has the ability to securely hold the threaded bushings and insert them into the desired injection-molded tool.
The FIPA grippers are available in various housing materials including high-performance plastic based on polyamides and aluminum alloys of high strength. The plastics are suitable for high dynamics and are very light. They can be used with foodstuffs due to their safety.
Apart from being compatible with other FIPA modular systems, the grippers can be used with third party systems. The vacuum or air media ducts can be integrated with the gripper that reduces the required space and hose connection.
