Quantum International is investigating potential opportunities in the quickly growing robotics sector and the Apple iPad supports new innovations in the telepresence robotic sector.
The Double Robotics Company will start shipping new robot units within four months. Using these robots, users can explore remote locales from home. Two iPads are employed in this robot, where one is installed over the mobile and the other remotely controls the robot with a downloadable app. A flexible stand has been used which acts as eyes and ears. The innovative telepresence bot navigates using balancing wheels just like that of a Segway.
According to Quantum CEO Robert Federowicz, Double Robotics is definitely the kind of innovation that Quantum is seeking to establish and commercialize. Double Robotics creates new revolution in markets in addition to leveraging sophisticated technology in the form of the iPad.
Using this new robot, users can remotely explore museums in varied time zones. It also allows potential customers to have business expeditions or sightseeing attractions from their living rooms or offices. Weighing 15-lb, the plug-and-play robots are currently available.
Double Robotics focuses on creating a new generation of robots in the market. Quantum has been operating to invest on the growing demand for business and consumer robotics solutions. By partnering with Poland’s prestigious Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP), the company is discussing definitive agreement to create and commercialize new robots. Its China- based consultant will enable exploring potential business targets in China.
Quantum anticipates rapid growth as it works along with robotics companies such as Honda Motor, iRobot, and AeroVironment.
