iRobot has introduced new gutter cleaning and vacuum cleaning robots. The iRobot Looj 330, a gutter cleaning robot, has the ability to clear dirt, clogs and leaves, while the iRobot Roomba 600 Series can vacuum carpets, laminate, tile and hardwood floors.
The iRobot Looj 330 features a four-stage auger that spins at a speed of 500 RPM. It has multiple speeds that allow it to clear tough clogs. The auger flaps can be interchanged to improve performance.
The robot can automatically sense the debris and adapts itself to clean in an effective manner. It has a scraper that can clear the path. A 7.2 V Lithium-ion battery powers the robot, which lasts for cleaning a 200 ft stretch on a single charge. In around 5 minutes, the iRobot Looj can clean a 30-foot gutter section.
About 50 ft of communications range between the robot and remote control handle enables cleaning of longer stretches. The robot is waterproof to an extent and can be easily cleaned.
The iRobot Roomba 600 Series features an improved brush design for maximizing cleaning. When compared to previous generation robots, the new robots can handle carpet fuzz, lint, pet fur and hair more effectively.
The robot features AeroVac Technology, which controls the airflow so that the bin fills evenly. The superior brush design and the AeroVac Technology help reduce tangling of hair on the robot’s bristles. This reduces maintenance while also improving cleaning.
The iRobot Roomba features onboard scheduling, iAdapt responsive cleaning technology, Dirt Detect acoustic sensor and a Virtual Wall barrier feature. It also automatically docks itself when it becomes low on battery and when it has finished cleaning.
