Elbit Systems recently declared that it has received a contract worth tens of millions of dollars from a Latin American customer. Under the terms of the contract, the company will provide a mixed fleet of Hermes 450 and Hermes 900 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The contract is scheduled to continue for two subsequent years.
The contract encompasses Universal Ground Control Stations (UGCS) and various payloads and capabilities such as SAR/MPR multi mode radar and additional sensors, advanced payloads systems from Electro-Optics Elop Division, and the Elisra Division's intelligence COMINT systems.
According to Elbit Systems UAS Division General Manager, Elad Aharonson, the company is pleased to have been selected to supply a mixed array of Hermes 450 and Hermes 900. Hermes 900 is a well-accepted UAS that serves a wide range of missions such as perimeter and security missions, and intelligence gathering. The potential of jointly working with the Hermes 450 provides affordable and versatile incorporation option for current users, without requiring any special training programs or extra infrastructure.
