Czech Government to Procure Foster-Miller’s TALON Robot

The Government of Czech Republic has made a contract with Foster-Miller for procuring TALON mine disposing robot and mine detectors to help their soldiers involved in foreign missions.

The Talon robot can be operated from a safe distance of up to 1 km. It can be employed in various landscapes including sand, snow and water, and it can also easily climb up stairs. This robot was effectively employed in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Iraq by mine-disposal experts for bestowing the unexploded mines and grenades safe.

Currently, the Czech military forces utilize tiny mine detectors developed by Schiebel, a Vienna-based company. Last year, Ravena and Skylark II aircraft were procured by the Czech Defense Ministry. In addition to this, Iveco armored vehicles were purchased during last December for protecting their military troops deployed in Afghanistan.
