Quantum International declared that it has started due diligence toward a definitive contract with the renowned Warsaw, Poland-based Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP). The company is happy over this new initiative and feels impressed by what it has discovered.
Quantum CEO Robert Federowicz said that PIAP is at the forefront of European robotics innovation. At present, the institute accommodates and carries out several exciting projects that are likely to lead to successful commercialization.
Robot designed for anti-terrorist and law-enforcement missions is a major research carried out by PIAP. PIAP is Poland’s sole manufacturer of high-quality mobile counter-terrorism robots in Poland and since 2000 has been a permanent supplier of mobile robots for the special forces of Poland.
Besides creating numerous other designs, PIAP has now developed new innovations such as the Tactical Throwable Robot (TRM). This small robotic device has been specifically designed for anti-terrorist applications. The TRM is made up of pipe-shaped body that incorporates a microphone and a camera. It can be thrown within an operational area from a significant distance or within a structure. Controlled by a remote control, it can efficiently carry out inspection, area reconnaissance, and explosives neutralization. It has a robust structure that can remain stable even when dropped from a high altitude.
In association with iRobot, Intuitive Surgical, Dover and Medtronic, Quantum International has been working to design and create advanced robotics technology to compete in a growing global industry.
