International Submarine Engineering (ISE) has supplied a new Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) termed ‘Hakuyo 150-3000’ to SNK Ocean, a Japan-based marine services company.
The HYSUB ROV has been developed to perform recovery, research, investigation and cable burial operations. It is the deepest-diving ROV, capable of functioning even at a depth measuring 3,000 m and will compliment the currently deployed HYSUB ROV, which can function up to 2,000 m depth.
This latest ROV features four crossways and three upright thrusters, a complete sensor kit, two manipulators and ACE, which is ISE’s custom-designed control system. It also incorporates a customized jet skid developed by James Adamson for performing cable burial. Upon attaching the skid, the hydraulic efficiency of this ROV can be split into two 75HP circuits. After identifying the cable the ROV moves down the water and the cable can be traced using the TSS cable skid.
It was reported that the onward thrust of this ROV is 2500 lbs and it can move at a speed of 3.7 knots.
