Health Robotics has reported that Regina General Hospital as well as Pasqua Hospital from Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region of Saskatchewanhas procured two i.v.STATION Robots from Health Robotics via Sandoz Canada. Prior to the purchase, 1Q2012 direct comparisons were carried out between i.v.STATION and RIVA of Intelligent Hospital Systems located in Canada.
According to Health Robotics' EVP, Gaspar DeViedma, the company has witnessed several instances where its competitors having outdated technologies lose their appeals to Public Tenders after disputing open-tender decisions. Through legal protests, these competitors hinder commercialization of Health Robotics' G2 compact, faster, and cost-effective robots within hospitals. The 2011 entry of Heath Robotics into the markets of Canada through Sandoz has posed a challenge to more than 20-year long well established, Canada-based RIVA. RIVA, which sold just two Chemotherapy Robots in Canada over all these years prior to the entry of Sandoz, have been constantly avoided by Canadian pharmacists. Even after 2.5 years following RIVA's first press release, those chemotherapy robots are still not “live" and operational.
Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region's decision faced protests from Intelligent Hospital Systems/Manrex, who lost their appeal of the Public Tender Award to i.v.STATION.
Mr. DeViedma further said that Health Robotics will progress with monitoring the global IV Robotics market as well as reporting to the general public.
