Concord Medical Center Treats Efficiently Using CyberKnife System and the da Vinci Surgical System

Concord Medical Services Holdings, a China-based specialty hospital management solution provider, operating a broad network of radiotherapy and diagnostic imaging centers declares that the CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System called the ‘CyberKnife System’ within the Changhai Hospital, following its trial run in February 2012, has successfully treated more than 170 patients.

Being an advanced method of radiosurgery, the CyberKnife System provides precisely targeted doses of radiation. It ensures very low radiation exposure and minimal side effects associated with radiotherapy procedures. The CyberKnife System has been deployed at Changhai Hospital for effectively treating with a wide range of cancers such as pancreatic and liver cancer. The CyberKnife System provides state-of-the-art treatment for pancreatic cancer, featuring respiratory movement tracking therapy, highly-precise positioning, shorter treatment cycles, consistent radiation accuracy through treatment, more uniform distribution of target, and dose.

Located in Shanghai, Changhai Hospital is a 3A-level research hospital having more than 2,000 beds. Since its April 2012 installation, an advanced da Vinci Surgical System has been effective under operation in Changhai Hospital. Changhai Hospital offers excellent treatment for patients with different cancer types by integrating the da Vinci Surgical System to the CyberKnife System. This combined method of therapy is effective for prostate cancer, a leading health problem among Chinese men.

At present, another CyberKnife System is being installed by the Company in another hospital this year.
