ReconRobotics, a provider of tactical micro-robot systems, recently declared that it has set up its international HQ in Lugano, Switzerland, from where it targets progression in the company’s three-year global expansion.
The new wholly owned subsidiary is named RRI Global SAGL. It will co-ordinate the entire sales, marketing and customer service operations beyond North America. RRI Global will be led by Barry E.T. Harris MBE, Recon’s Director of International Programs, who will manage the development of its international reseller network that extends across 33 countries at present.
According to the President and CEO of ReconRobotics, Alan Bignall, following the achievement of well-established position within the U.S. military and federal and local law enforcement agencies with respect to micro-robot systems, the company intends expanding its well established international footprint. According to ReconRobotics, there exists a universal need for simple life-saving technology among the homeland security sectors including military and police. Barry Harris and his team are all set to accomplish this challenging tactical capability on a global basis.
The U.S. military and international friendly forces, in addition to several global law enforcement agencies, deploy over 3,500 of the company’s Recon Scout systems. Recon Scout system enables operators to determine the layout of enclosed spaces, detect potential IEDs and determine the location of indigenous, friendly, or enemy personnel. The weight of Recon Scout XT is 1.2 lbs. It can be deployed in 5 secs and thrown up to an extent of 120 ft.
