CSC has won an unmanned aerial systems (UAS) service contract from the U.S. Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). As per the contract, CSC will supply its streaming Video.
Targeted at three prime awardees, this is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple award contract (MAC). This six-month long contract has a total maximum value amounting to $874 M.
According to the agreement terms, CSC is qualified to accept task orders regarding the launch of land-based UAS aircraft in the air. The electro-optic and infrared cameras generate streaming video, which will be delivered to the military users directly in a remote theater of operations. This operation by the CSC requires efficient equipments, manpower, and supplies. These service capabilities will be integrated to offer cost-effective solutions to its customers. A complete intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) coverage will be offered, thereby eliminating the need to invest for extra labor and equipment. However, payment will be made only for the video hours being delivered as a service.
CSC’s North American Public Sector ISR Group’s VP, Hal Smith says that the company has long-term expertise in offering its technology as a service. CSC business model effectively supports delivery of Video as a Service. This versatile service delivery model will contribute to implementing intelligence on the battlefield.
Following its new procurement of a proven integrator of UAS systems Centauri, CSC has improved its capabilities. The major partners of CSC include Sierra Nevada and Battlespace Flight Services and Arcturas UAV.
