Boomerang Systems, an innovator and producer of fully automated robotic parking and self-storage systems, recently declared that it has been selected to construct an automated parking garage with 480-space as part of the initial phase of the Jackson- based Old Capitol Green redevelopment project.
Located in Mississippi, Old Capitol Green is a 14-block downtown mixed-income redevelopment project, the first to comply with the LEED standards for Neighborhood Development (ND). Full Spectrum has been chosen to be the master developer of this project.
The Boomerang RoboticValet consists of excellent space efficiency than conventional parking systems, thereby reducing the parking garage’s carbon footprint to help attain the maximum sustainability benchmarks that the project requires. With these significant features, Boomerang RoboticValet will best-serve as the parking solution for the project. Using robots, the fully automated parking and retrieval system can enable the cars to move on pallets across the structure. With this technology, the number of drive aisles decrease, thereby reducing space. The electricity consumption for lighting and ventilation will be very low, with less carbon emissions. This technology also enables significant reduction in the number of materials used for garage construction, thereby minimizing excavation. The garage will be provided with new, alternative fueling stations in order to recharge multiple plug-in electric vehicles.
The automated robotic parking garage will initially be constructed with office and residential buildings located above the garage structure. The garage space will also facilitate installation of central cooling plant.
