US based Microchip, specialising in providing Flash and analog-IP solutions and microcontrollers, has announced that it will provide Collaborator and Copper Sponsorship support for the Arizona Science and Technology Festival (AZ Sci Tech Fest) through an Open House, which is to be held at the company’s headquarters located in Arizona.
The company will also provide sponsorship to the FIRST robotics “Duel in the Desert” competition, which will be held in Arizona State University (AZU).
The AZ Sci Tech Fest is organised by the Arizona Technology Council Foundation and the Arizona Science Centre. Under this event, more than 200 institutions from various fields such as arts, science, community, academics, K-12 education and industry participate in order to educate and inform the general public on the innovations in science and technology that will influence the growth of the state. The Open House is free for the general public and will include live demonstrations of products from Microchip and other family oriented activities. The company’s products that will be on display include a Virtual Fab tour and a real satellite. The Sci Fest will also feature representatives from FIRST Lego League, VEX Robotics and FIRST.
The FIRST Robotics Duel in the Desert competition is a trademark event of the AZ Sci Tech Fest and will take place at the Polytechnic campus of ASU. More than 12 FIRST teams will participate in the forthcoming FIRST Robotics Competition Arizona Regional, which is to be held during March 2012.
