US based Advanced Defense Technologies (ADTI) is developing detection, sensors, signal intelligence and communication systems for drones and UAVs. According to research firm Teal Group, the market for drones and UAVs is expected to grow to $95 billion over the next 10 years, with an annual growth of $11.3 billion.
The substantial growth in the market is driven by the need of various governments to utilise advanced reconnaissance, surveillance, communication, attack and intelligence technologies, which can be provided by sensors and payloads that are carried by aircraft.
The demand for deployment of UAV has led to the increase of spending on subsystems and payloads for security and military purposes. According to the President and CEO of Advanced Defense Technologies R.S. Tahim, the technologies which have been developed by the company under SBIR and DOD programmes has the ability to cater to the growth of the UAV and drone market. ADTI’s range of sensors and payloads include antenna systems with higher capacity, greater processing power, advanced imaging technologies, sharper intelligence and advanced electronic warfare. The company has developed and designed many technologies under SBIR programmes with NASA, DARPA and the US military.
