Quanser has thrown open its robotics products for the high school students from the Markham Areas. As many as 20 students from these high schools will be provided with an opportunity to interact with professional engineers at Quanser, which will serve as an inspiration for them to take up careers in engineering.
Quanser is committed towards encouraging engineering education and research. It will be hosting the robotic interactive event at St. Robert Catholic School and Saint Brother Andre Catholic High School on 16 December.
The CEO of Quanser explained that the students will benefit through the interactive sessions by getting a feel of being an engineer. The students will get a chance to manipulate a driving simulator and get a chance to interact with a robot that is used for performing remote surgeries. The students will also get a chance to work with unmanned ground vehicle. Engineers at Quanser will be present for the students to clear any doubts that they might have. These high schools will take part in the FIRST Robotics Championships coming up in 2012. During the competition the students will be required to design, build and program a robot weighing 140 lbs, capable of tackling challenges of the real world.
