Exposure Gained at Penn State Robotics Club Helps Graduate Student in Internship

A graduate student from the Penn State gave credit to the robotics knowledge he gained at the Penn State Robotics Club in being able to successfully complete his internship at Axelerate Solutions. Jeremy Bridon was presented with quite a challenging assignment as his internship project by the company.

The internship project was outsourced to Axelerate by Microsoft and the requirement was to come up with a better and efficient way of implementing quality control on Windows phone devices. Bridon faced the project with immense confidence from the hands-on experience that he gained from his computer classes and also by working at the State’s robotics club. Bridon explained that he was drawn to robotics and that was one of the main reasons he chose Penn State.

Bridon used a computer, two cell phones and a robotic arm for the project. He coded a program for doing the quality check on the cell phones. The robotic arm was used for testing the mobile phones, which was currently being done by six employees of Microsoft by spending countless hours for the testing. Jeremy mentioned that the opportunity to work with Axelerate came to his doorstep only through the contacts at the Penn State Robotics Club.
