Avateq has come up with a remote signal monitoring system, which is a proven cost-effective solution that monitors the strength of the signal even at the most remote transmitter station.
Digital broadcasting offered high quality content when compared to the traditional analog broadcasting, efficient usage of bandwidth and improved flexibility. The CEO of Avateq explained that the signal monitoring system is named AVQ1020 and has been specifically designed for monitoring modern digital broadcasting networks, which span over a large geographical area and have multiple repeaters that are positioned in remote places from the network management center. He added that the system ensured that the audio and video signals received at the users end were of high-quality.
AVQ1020 comes as an ideal solution for broadcasting networks, which are made up of a number of repeater nodes, maintenance of which is a costly affair. The core processing module of AVQ1020 comprises proprietary algorithms, which are compatible with major broadcasting standards. The system can be used with the hybrid ‘satellite-terrestrial’ digital broadcasting system, which is the mostly commonly used one across America. AVQ1020 is particularly useful in applications that require permanent monitoring of the quality of service and systems whose transmitters and repeaters are operated under conditions. The system assesses the quality of signal based on parameters such as EVM, MER and SNR. The modulation modes and the signal’s physical structure are also reported by AVQ1020. The system achieves monitoring of the individual transmitter sections by keeping track of the RF signal characteristics, shifts in the frequency parameters of the RF signal are indicative of hardware problems. Apart from the above applications the monitoring system can also be used as part of a testing set up comprising receivers and transmitters.
