RxSafe and Innovation have come together for the distribution of the product offering of RxSafe for automated robotic storage and retrieval systems for pharmacies. Both of them will be sharing a booth at the NACDS Pharmacy and Technology Conference, to be held at Boston between the August 27 and August 30.
Doyle Jensen, the executive VP of Innovation, pointed out that the products from RxSafe were a perfect fit to their PharmASSIST. By integrating these two systems, they will be able to completely automate dispensing of medication as per the customer’s prescription requirements.
The CEO of RxSafe, William Holmes, mentioned that this partnership was based on the technical expertise of both companies. With the help of the sales reach of Innovation, the RxSafe products will be reaching customers at different locations. The RxSafe products are designed to store, retrieve and also track the inventory of the pharmacy to the pill or package level. The storage system is capable of handling inventory which is in its native packaging. The RxSafe 1800 System is capable of storing and retrieving as many as 1800 native prescription containers. When enhanced to a three tower system it can retrieve up to 5400 prescription containers within a floor space of less than 40 sq.ft. Additional features offered by the system are tracking of narcotics, theft and diversion detection and also spotting drug expiry. The automation system is capable of filling up to 500 prescriptions in one hour when used in the multi-operator mode.
