Astronics to Supply Automated Test Systems to U.S. Marine Corps

Astronics Corporation has declared that its subsidiary unit Astronics DME Corporation is one among the three companies to sign an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) agreement worth $21 million with the U.S. Marine Corps to supply automated test equipments and test program sets through the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP). The term of the contract is one-year and it includes both software and hardware components.

It was reported that the NAVSUP’s intention was to offer explicit task orders under the ID/IQ agreement to the three companies by allowing them to bid during the contract period. Astronics DME has received two task orders along with an ID/IQ proposal request, with a net worth of $1.5 million. The operations are likely to be instigated soon and will be completed before 2011.

Peter J. Gundermann, President and CEO of Astronics expressed his happiness over receiving this contract and he stated that by means of this new agreement they are determined to better assist the automated testing efficiencies of the U.S. Marine Corps and he added that they will compete effectively to receive the upcoming task orders under the ID/IQ contract.
